My OBSESSION with Dollar Tree – A List of Things to Always Buy at the Dollar Store!

So the dollar store is really one of my favorite places to go and seriously makes me so happy – specifically Dollar Tree because everything is a dollar.  There are many things I will ONLY buy at the dollar store and nowhere else – here is short guide of what to always buy at the dollar store!

Toiletries

Toothpaste:  I always buy toothpaste at the dollar store!!  They have many of the same brands that they have at any other store such as the grocery store, Target, etc. I buy Colgate and it is the exact same bottle as any other store – and it’s only $1 !!  At the dollar store I can buy two bottles for less than the price of one at another store – you can’t beat it!

Deodorant:  They don’t have a huge variety of deodorant the Dollar Tree, but they actually have the kind I use, so I always buy it here.  It is slightly smaller than a stick you would buy at another store, but you can buy 2 (maybe 3) sticks here for less than the price of one!  I always buy this here and it is always worth it!

Razors:  Depending on if you like to buy razors in bulk, you may or may not like to buy these at Dollar Tree, but I always do!  You can get a pack of multiple razors for $1 – they have some brand names and some that are not brand names, but I have been buying razors here for years and have never been sorry!

Lotion & Soap:  I don’t have sensitive skin, I don’t have to buy a specific kind of soap or avoid certain things – so this may not be for everyone, but if this isn’t an issue, it is definitely worth to try.  I have bought lotion at the Dollar Tree over the years and wound up with some of the best smelling lotions I’ve ever used! You can get some really good brand name lotions here – they may be in a slightly smaller bottle, but definitely worth it!  I also buy soap here – they don’t usually have any great brand names, but you can get a full size bottle of body wash for $1.

Kitchen Items

Utensils:  When I moved in with my boyfriend we were definitely on a budget (still are!) We needed kitchen utensils since we both left most of that behind in our last places.  We went to the Dollar Tree and got everything we needed for probably less than $20! They have really good spatulas, spoons, and even scissors – I’m not saying this stuff will last forever, but everything we bought has lasted us over 6 months and is still in perfectly good condition – and we were able to save a lot at the time.

Glasses & Dishes:  I have bought the BEST wine glasses from the Dollar Tree!  Wine glasses can definitely get a little expensive if you are buying a whole set.  The best ones I have found were really sturdy red wine glasses and I loved the largeness of them.  They also have really good drinking glasses as well as coffee cups. I personally haven’t had any plates or bowls from the Dollar Tree, but that’s only because I wasn’t in any need since I discovered what great stuff you could get here – I always look and they definitely have a good selection!

Dish Towels:  I like having plenty of dish towels in the kitchen and the Dollar Tree is the perfect place to grab an extra.  You can get two for $1 and they are good quality! If you are moving into a new place you can spend just a few dollars and have a lot of dish towels!

Randoms

Greeting Cards:  I will never buy a greeting card from a drug store again!!  This is definitely one of the best things to get at the Dollar Tree.  Most times you can get two for $1 and they always have really good cards.  Buying two cards at the drug store could cost over $15 – compared to $1 – this is a must!

Balloons:  I’m actually not even sure how much balloons cost at other stores, I just know Dollar Tree always has a great selection of foil balloons for all holidays like Mother’s Day and birthdays – I never used to buy balloons, but now I love getting a few at a time for holidays.

Candy & Snacks:  I love all candy and snacks, so whenever I’m at the Dollar Tree I usually always grab something because I can’t help myself.  They have a lot of different choices and it’s obviously great to pick up a bag of chips or a piece of candy for $1 – way less than any other store!

At the end of the day if you are on a budget and trying to save (but still have all essential items you need!) shopping at the dollar store is definitely for you!  It is even pretty fun to go in and realize the things you can get for only $1.
