AMAZING Buffalo Chicken Dip

August 11, 2018

So buffalo chicken dip was something I actually never made before until I heard someone talking about this recipe at work.  My co-workers were begging her to bring in the dip for our Superbowl party at work. It was so tasty and she was happy to tell us that the recipe was off the bottle of Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Wings Sauce!

Since Super Bowl was that weekend and my boyfriend and I were having a few people over I decided to try this recipe.  It calls for:

  1. 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  2. 1 (8 oz. pkg.) cream cheese, softened
  3. 1/2 cup FRANK’S RedHot® Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce or FRANK’S RedHot® Buffalo Wings Sauce
  4. 1/2 cup Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Dressing (I used 1/2 cup veggie dip made with Ranch Dips Mix)

This buffalo chicken dip recipe calls for all ingredients to be combined and then baked for 20 minutes in a shallow baking dish. I will tell you I have never actually tried it this way, but I’m sure it is delicious!  I make the dip in a slow cooker and I think it is perfect!

Start by cooking chicken in the slow cooker on high for about 2 hours.  The recipe calls for a can of shredded chicken, but I prefer to cook the chicken myself – it comes out perfectly in the crock pot.  Once the chicken is done shred into small pieces.   Shredding the chicken is especially easy when it is cooked in the slow cooker because it basically just falls apart.

Instead of the Original Ranch Dressing I prefer to use Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dips Mix – a vegetable dip made with a the dips packet and 16 oz sour cream.  I used a 1/2 cup of this instead of ranch dressing. I make about an hour before I eat or want to use it.

So far the only I have done is cook and shred the chicken and make the dips mix about an hour before.  Next I combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, ranch dip, and buffalo sauce into the slow cooker on high.  I like to stir periodically as everything heats up and melts together. Once everything is melted together it is ready to eat!

Directions:

  1. Cook chicken in slow cooker until cooked through.
  2. Shred chicken.
  3. In crock pot add shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, cream cheese, and ranch dressing.
  4. Turn on high and let ingredients melt together, stirring occasionally.

This buffalo chicken dip is the perfect app to bring to parties and super easy to heat up once you are ready to serve.  We like to eat it with chips – Tostito Scoops are my favorite, but any chip would be good! I’ve made this for a few parties so far and everyone LOVES it!  You won’t regret it if you try this one!
