This crock pot teriyaki chicken recipe was basically a result of having no food in the house and not being in the mood to go to the store. I cook a lot (and I love it!) but there are some days when I am crunched for time and don’t have a ton of time to spend in the kitchen. For a day like this a recipe like this one is perfect!
The first time I made this I was literally looking through the fridge and the pantry wondering what I could possibly make for dinner without going to the store (again!) I had two chicken breasts, so I decided to cook them in the crock pot – I love making things in the crock pot and it comes to crock pot chicken I want it to be flavorful and juicy! So I started looking through the kitchen and this recipe (that I now usually make at least once a week) was born!
I put this together in less than 5 minutes, so if you are looking for an EFFORTLESS recipe this is definitely for you!
There is a lot of liquid in the pot so I usually just serve with brown rice for a quick and easy dinner!
Ingredients:
2-3 chicken breasts
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp honey
Directions:
Add chicken broth and soy sauce to crock pot.
Add chicken.
Sprinkle garlic powder over chicken (top of chicken will be sticking out of the liquid)
Drizzle honey over chicken.
Cook 3-4 hours on high.
Shred chicken while still in the crock pot and let sit in the juice for 1 hour (or less) on low/warm just to let juice soak in.
