Crock Pot Mac and Cheese Recipe
September 14, 2018
This crock pot mac and cheese is one of my favorite recipes. I love mac and cheese and have been making a homemade recipe for years – it is even a staple at our Thanksgiving dinner. Recently I decided to try my recipe in the crock pot and realized it is not only super easy, but tastes AMAZING too! I will always use this recipe from now – I can’t believe I have waited this long to try it!
The ingredients in this mac and cheese might seem a little a little different than other recipes, but trust me it is amazing – my family typically likes recipes that are more plain and everyone loves this.
If you like mac and cheese you MUST try this!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup elbow macaroni
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- ¼ cup flour
- 1 ½ cup milk
- 1 small onion, chopped
- Cheddar Cheese – Cracker Barrel Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese, 8 oz – I used half the block
- Baby Swiss – Sargento Sliced Baby Swiss Cheese – I used half the slices
- Provolone – Sargento Sliced Provolone Cheese – I used half the slices
Directions:
- Start by boiling the macaroni – about 4-5 minutes. Since it is going into the crock pot you don’t want it to overcook.
- Cut the cheddar, swiss and provolone into small pieces.
- Spray the crock pot with cooking spray.
- Add cooked macaroni to the bottom of the crock pot.
- Layer cheese, butter, milk, four, salt, pepper and onion over the macaroni.
- Cook on high for 1 hr – 1 hr 15 mins, stirring about every 20 mins.
