3 Easy Drink Recipes

Apricot Brandy
One of my favorite drinks to make for a at-home brunch, maybe for a holiday, or for a day-time drink during the summer is an Apricot Sour. It’s not something I have ever ordered when I’m out, but I always have the ingredients at home. I learned about this drink a few years ago during Easter with my family. I asked my grandma – who neverrrrrr drinks – what she used to drink back in the day and she told me her drink was the “Apricot Sour.” Not only Super easy to make, but it is so tasty! My version is especially easy and only has two ingredients:
- Apricot Brandy
- Sour Mix or Sweet & Sour Mix
I usually use a bigger glass that I fill completely with ice. I like to add a double shot (or a little less than half a double shot) of apricot brandy. Then fill the rest of the glass with sour mix and stir!!
I like the sweet taste for a brunch or day-time drink because I’m not a beer drinker and other alcohol sometimes seems to strong for the daytime and this is a nice change from the standard mimosa – and it’s SO EASY! Even my grandma that never had a drink in the first 25 years I knew her now asks for one every time I see her!
Craisin Champagne
Another drink that is really fun and cute for brunch (and crazy easy!) is Craisin Champagne.
This is just a glass of champagne (or prosecco) and a few added craisins. The craisins will jump around like little jumping beans and it feels a little fancy! This drink is best served in a champagne flute.
Ingredients:
Hibiscus Mimosa
This drink is really fun and feels kind of fancy, but is super easy!! I first had this drink when I was in Hawaii at Aulani in Disney, I got to go there with my mom when I was in college. I really love Disney, so I felt really lucky to get to experience it in Hawaii. One night after dinner I sat at the pool bar/lounge with my mom and we ordered Hibiscus Mimosa’s – something I had never had before. It was basically a hibiscus flower – these are edible! – and champagne (or prosecco). The flowers are kept in a syrup, so when they are mixed with the champagne the drink turns a pinkish color that’s really nice looking. You can also add a shot (or half a shot of vodka for a stronger drink).
Ingredients:
Since the trip we have ordered the flowers and make these at home – the only difference is we use prosecco instead of champagne, but they are basically the same! I have had a few different kinds of the edible Hibiscus flowers, but Wild Hibiscus (link) are my favorite. We have fun making these on holidays or for brunch and they look really pretty in a champagne glass! These are definitely worth trying especially for a special occasion!
